偷闲我自出城西，江上平芜望欲迷。
雨过鹭鸶临水立，日斜麻雀避风棲。
春光有迹留皮相，岁月无声印爪泥。
高处最宜观世态，酒狂恨不借天梯。

I steal my hours to go out of West Town;
The river grass would my gaze blur and drown.
The rain-washed herons stand still riverside;
Near dusk， sparrows will in the lee abide.
The spring has left its residues aground;
The year has stamped its footprints with no sound.
To view the world， you’d better higher ascend;
I’m drunk， who’ll to me a sky-ladder lend?

HONG Junmo， a native of Jinjiang， Fujian Province; settling in Chengdu， Sichuan Province. He is an associate editor of Star Poetry in Sichuan.
